Kyla Paolucci, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Graphic Design from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Based in New York, she has worked with companies including Amazon, WarnerMedia/HBO, World Wrestling Entertainment, Conde Nast, and Hearst Magazines. Her professional experiences have guided her research into how cultural influences shape the role of the designer. Professor Paolucci explores the opportunities and limitations faced by designers across various commercial sectors, focusing on the concept of "generality" in design and how ethnographic approaches can reflect relational experiences and enhance commercial outcomes. She encourages students to cultivate their design practice through durational making and traditional methods.
