Global Passport
How can $800 bring you the world? Introducing St. John's one-week Global Passport program!
At St. John's University, we provide our students a quality global education, right from DAY ONE!
Our nationally unique Global Passport program offers students in their first two semesters a chance to "internationalize" their academic experience right from the start. Through the Global Passport program, students fulfill a required first-year course, but in a completely innovative and comparative way, studying with top professors who incorporate the historic and cultural treasures of Rome and Paris into their New York semester courses in order to bring the curriculum alive. At the end of the semester in Queens, students and faculty travel together to our Paris or Rome location for a seven-day, one-credit academic program connected to their course.
And to show our commitment to making this opportunity affordable to all first-year transfer students, including transfers, we subsidize the Global Passport program to keep the student program fee at only $800, plus the cost of round-trip airfare.
So how does it work?
The Core Curriculum—in New York and Abroad. You’ll apply to enroll in a New York course that meets a Core, language or major-specific first-year requirement, which will take place during the regular fall or spring semester. Your NYC course will engage the world through comparative readings and projects that prepare for your time in Europe. At the end of the term, you will live and study in Rome or Paris for 7 days with your fellow students and professor, bringing your semester’s work to life through hands-on exploration of the sites and themes that you've engaged all term. Fall semester courses travel in January, and spring semester courses travel in May. You’ll also receive an additional credit to represent your hard work while abroad.
