Matthew Donnelly is an Associate Professor within the Department of Core Studies. Since 2003 Professor Donnelly has taught within the Department of Core Studies, teaching Discover New York until August 2023, when Discover New York was given a new name: First Year Seminar. Prior to teaching within the Department of Core Studies, Professor Donnelly taught within the Department of Government & Politics in St. John’s College from 1991 to 2004.  

Prior to teaching here at St. John’s, Professor Donnelly was a staff member for two Members of Congress from New York and was also a staff member for the North Hempstead Town Supervisor.
