The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking dynamic nurse educators for its anticipated undergraduate, pre-licensure nursing program.  The proposed program will offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.               

The College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member qualified to teach clinical and didactic courses for a planned traditional 4-year baccalaureate nursing program. In this role, the successful candidate would work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical practice competence, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participate in faculty governance. 

The successful candidate is required to have a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Preference will be given to those with experience using instructional strategies for traditional, online instruction (hybrid etc.), simulation (high fidelity and virtual, etc.), and two years of teaching experience (didactic and clinical practice) with students in a college/university nursing program and evidence of continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching may include didactic as well as clinical courses using simulation, face to face, and some online instruction.
  • Primary areas of emphasis include teaching experience in Maternal-Newborn Nursing as well as willingness to teach other areas of nursing education, i.e., foundations, health assessment, and pathophysiology as needed.
  • Administrative duties may include program recruitment, student advisement and mentorship, program evaluation activities and periodic curricular review and updates.
  • Participate in curriculum development and evaluation.
  • Evaluate student achievement of course objectives related to nursing knowledge and clinical practice.
  • Advise/mentor to students enrolled in the nursing program.
  • Fulfill the role of faculty member in teaching, scholarship and service.
  • Assume other responsibilities or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Specialty, License/Certification

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD or DNP) preferred.
  • Master’s degree in nursing is required.
  • Current clinical experience; national certification in specialty area of focus is preferred.
  • Current licensure in good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York or eligibility for RN licensure in New York state.
  • Experience teaching baccalaureate nursing students.
  • Experience in academic leadership.
  • Preference will be provided to candidates who demonstrate scholarship (e.g., publications, national presentations) and active participation in community and/or professional organizations.

The College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member qualified to teach clinical and didactic courses for a planned traditional 4-year baccalaureate nursing program. In this role, the successful candidate would work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical practice competence, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participate in faculty governance. 

The successful candidate is required to have a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Preference will be given to those with experience using instructional strategies for traditional, online instruction (hybrid etc.), simulation (high fidelity and virtual, etc.), and two years of teaching experience (didactic and clinical practice) with students in a college/university nursing program and evidence of continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching may include didactic as well as clinical courses using simulation, face to face, and some online instruction.
  • Primary areas of emphasis include teaching experience in Critical Care as well as willingness to teach other areas of nursing education, i.e., foundations, health assessment, nursing research and pathophysiology as needed.

Department of Clinical Health Professions within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

The Department of Clinical Health Professions has over 60 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members with clinical specialties in pharmacy practice, physician assistant studies, radiologic science, clinical laboratory sciences, physical therapy and the newly established nursing program. Responsibilities

The Department of Clinical Health Professions is seeking qualified applicants for 1 (one) twelve-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences who will also serve as the program’s Clinical Coordinator.

Primary teaching responsibilities will focus on the clinical laboratory sciences courses, particularly chemistry, in the professional year. Additional teaching responsibilities in clinical practice may be required; thus, the faculty candidate should possess both academic and clinical expertise in clinical laboratory sciences. All Department faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities and service to the department, college and university. The ideal candidate would have a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to work well in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented environment.   

Clinical Coordinator responsibilities will include administrative oversight of rotations (e.g., calendar development, obtaining clinical affiliate availability and scheduling), Trajecsys training for students and monitoring student fulfillment of rotation expectations, assessment of evaluations, competencies, and practical exams from clinical rotations, performing site visits, and documentation of clinical grades.  

Qualifications

Candidate must possess an M.S. degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Education. A minimum of 3 years clinical experience and 3 years of teaching experience at a National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)-accredited degree program is required. MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification and a license as a clinical laboratory technologist from the NYS Department of Education is also required.

Division/Department Information

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Anatomy & Physiology within the Master of Science in Physician Assistant graduate program.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Department Chair and Program Director, responsible for:

  • Coordination and instruction of didactic year PA students, which may include: 
  • Delivering in-person lecture(s)
  • Evaluation of student performance and providing remediation as needed Student advisement and counseling

Responsibilities are not limited to the above and can be altered by the Department Chair and Program Director as needed to fulfill ARC-PA and program requirements.  

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Anatomy & Physiology, or a related discipline, required. PhD (*preferred)
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • Higher education teaching experience and experience in a PA program (*preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time management and analytical skills

The Department of Pharmacy Administration and Public Health in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at St. John’s University is seeking applicants for two full-time tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Pharmacy Administration, to begin in Spring 2025 The Pharmacy Administration program at St John’s University focuses on training professionals and graduate students to advance scholarship that is practice focused, patient-centered, and outcomes-oriented. Our graduates are equipped with the tools to become leaders in their respective fields who work effectively in interprofessional collaborative environments. The faculty is committed to academic excellence, scholarship, and service to our community. The University’s location, experienced faculty, diverse graduate student body and, a wide variety of course offerings, adds to the educational and research experience students receive in the program.

Responsibilities

This position offers unique and exciting opportunities to advance the profession through innovative teaching, scholarship, and service. The applicant will develop and teach Pharmacy Administration courses including Social and Behavioral Aspects of Healthcare, Pharmacoeconomics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics and Outcomes, Heath Care Finance, Marketing and Management, Health Care Systems etc. Other teaching responsibilities may be assigned based on departmental needs. Successful applicants will join a team of productive researchers focused on advancing scholarship that is practice focused, patient-centered, and outcomes-oriented. Service to the university community through mentoring of professional/graduate/undergraduate students and, active participation on committees is also expected.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Ph.D degree in Pharmacy Administration or in other health related sciences fields.  A background in Pharmacy is preferred.

Salary

The hire-on salary range for Assistant Professor, Pharmacy Administration is $105,000 - $115,000.
