Ed Blankmeyer to Pursue Professional Opportunity with the New York Mets
One of the most successful and respected coaches in the collegiate baseball ranks over the past three decades, Ed Blankmeyer has resigned his position as the head coach of the St. John's baseball program, effective immediately. Blankmeyer, the winningest coach in both Red Storm and BIG EAST history, has accepted an offer to join the New York Mets organization as the manager of the Brooklyn Cyclones and the club's extended spring training coordinator.
