Research
Our faculty and students have secured 86 verified Fulbright awards to date. We are proud of our 31 students who have accepted Fulbright awards over the past decade, and the 25 Fulbright award winners on our faculty who currently teach at St. John’s.
Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE)
The Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science is one of only 17 programs in the United States to be named a Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) by the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
IAEP Center for Internal Audit Excellence Program
The Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) program, a part of The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University is an IAEP Center for Internal Audit Excellence Program.

After Six Years in Pharm.D. Program, Michelle Chin is Ready to Serve the Community
Pharmacies are often critical touch points for health care in the community, and pharmacists are among the most visible members of the health-care system. With this in mind, Michelle Chin made it her mission to get involved in service throughout her six years as a Pharm.D. student in St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Deven Rodriguez
Deven Rodriguez had an upbringing he describes as “tumultuous.” Now a cadet in St. John’s University Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Red Storm Battalion, Deven was relentlessly bullied as a child. For years, he felt depressed and rudderless—until finding a sense of purpose in service to others.

Tobin's Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science
- It is one of only a few programs in the world recognized as a Global Center of Insurance Excellence by the International Insurance Society. Less than 40 programs have earned this designation.
- Tobin’s Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science is one of only 17 programs in the United States to be named a Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) by the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
- The Greenberg School received Gold Level recognition by the Casualty Actuarial Society for its commitment to supporting students on the property and casualty actuarial career path; dedicated property/casualty insurance courses; placement of property and casualty actuaries on the faculty; and graduating actuarial students who work in the P&C field and have obtained credits for CAS credentialing requirements.

- The School of Education’s graduate program advanced an impressive 16 spots in one year in U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 list of the “Best Education Schools.”
School of Law
- St. John’s University School of Law continues to rank in the top tier of New York law schools for the outcomes that matter most to law students: passing the bar and securing employment in the legal field.
- John’s Law once again exceeded the statewide bar passage rate with a 94% bar passage rate for the most recently reported data (and the Class of 2022 was again well above the bar passage rate in New York!)
- The School of Law has exceptional placement outcomes, as reported by the ABA for “gold-standard” employment (i.e., full-time, long-term, bar-required, and J.D. advantage jobs) and overall employment. The law school is also recognized by Law.com for placing the most graduates in the 100 biggest law firms.
