Highlighting the role universities play in promoting global entrepreneurship, Katia Passerini, Ph.D., Dean, College of Professional Studies, joined a panel of business, political, and academic leaders at United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan for the International Council for Small Business, Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Knowledge Summit Day.

Salute to our Veterans concert fundraises over $1000 to support the Students Veterans Association
The College of Professional Studies in collaboration with the Veterans Success Center conducted the first ever "Salute to our Veterans" concert. The concert featured the musical duo of John Martelli (Gigs) and our very own Assistant Dean Randolph D.J. Ortiz. The event was attended by over 250 people and featured music from the 40s through the 70s. The event was developed as a way to support our student veterans at St. John's. The event fundraised $1,385 which was donated to the Student Veterans Associations of St. John's University.

Vincentian Values Celebrated at St. John’s Commencement Exercises
St. John’s University conferred more than 2,200 undergraduate degrees at its Staten Island and Queens, NY, campuses, on May 20 and 21, as leaders from business and the Church congratulated students during Commencement Exercises marking the institution’s 147th academic year.

SJU Students Learn about Covering Politics from Veteran ABC Journalist
Rick Klein, the Political Director at ABC News, drew upon his two decades of experience as a reporter to share insights with St. John’s students pursuing journalism and related degrees during an academic forum on April 24 at the Queens, NY, campus.

The FOX U Project
This past year our Sport Management program had the opportunity to work with Fox Sports University (Fox U). Fox U “is a program that Fox Sports developed with prestigious academic and athletic institutions around the country…Each class partners with a Fox Sports Media Group business to address a marketing, research, technology or strategy challenge that the business faces. Students team up to create real-world solutions, products, and campaigns to address the business challenge” (Fox Sports University).
