Campus Capital Improvements Help St. John’s Prepare for New Academic Year
To the casual summertime visitor to St. John’s University’s Queens, NY, campus, the extent of the expansive scope of capital improvements, renovations, deferred maintenance projects, and new construction may take time to become apparent. Nevertheless, many capital improvements are underway up close and behind the scenes, and work continues as the campus hosts regular summertime activities, external events, athletic camps, and routine business operations.

Students Donate Food, Other Essentials in Residence Hall Move-Out
A routine, end-of-school-year ritual became an opportunity for St. John’s University students to assist the needy and serve as responsible stewards of the environment. In cleaning out their residence hall rooms after the spring semester, students collected more than 2.5 metric tons of food, clothing, and household goods that were distributed to representatives of the Dax Program to support homeless students; St. John’s Bread & Life food pantry in Brooklyn, NY; and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Long Island.

Current students and alumni from Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood, NY, and St. John’s University gathered together along with their families on Sunday, April 21, at the University’s Queens, NY, campus for a day of networking, barbecue, and baseball. The event allowed current Molloy students to experience the spirit of St. John’s and learn more about the academic ties between the two schools.
