Tobin College of Business at St. John's University was selected to host the upcoming 2024 Annual Northeast Business Deans Association Conference (NEBDA) in Queens, NY, on September 19-20. All business school deans, associate deans, MBA program directors, and assistant deans from the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada are invited to attend the conference, which will focus on a timely theme, "Managing Risk in Higher Education."
This year's NEBDA conference promises to illuminate complexities and innovations in the realm of risk in higher ed, including:
- Expert Insights - Hear from speakers who are shaping the future of risk management in higher education, with perspectives from a chief risk officer, the CEO of one of the largest academic insurance providers, and other top minds from industry and academia.
- Networking Opportunities - Connect with fellow deans at two receptions, one with stunning views of Manhattan and the other in the heart of NYC’s biggest Chinatown.
- Interactive Sessions - Engage in thought-provoking discussions and workshops designed to tackle real-world risk challenges.
- Future Directions - Gain valuable insights into the future landscape of risk management and its implications for your business school.
"We're proud to host such an esteemed group of business school colleagues" said Maciek Nowak, Ph.D., Tobin College's Dean and Joseph H. and Maria C. Schwartz Distinguished Chair. "Tobin is well-positioned to host discussions about risk management thanks to the Maurice Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science, which is home to one of the top-ranked risk management programs in the country. It's just one of many reasons we're very excited to welcome NEBDA to St. John's and New York City in September."

NEBDA meets once a year in the fall to promote and to enhance collegiate education in business in the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada, including sharing best practice approaches to issues and challenges facing business educators.
NEBDA is the regional association of collegiate business programs offered by colleges and universities in the northeast United States and eastern Canada. NEBDA is affiliated with AACSB International but operates independently. While the majority of its members are from the northeast, any collegiate institution offering programs in business administration and/or business education as colleges, schools, or departments of business administration can join.
