Did you know that St. John’s University is a member of the Design Factory Global Network (DFGN)? The DFGN is a world-spanning network of innovation hubs, all on a mission to change the way we do education and learning. Now our community is invited to share with, learn from, and get to know the other network members. Join us for the International Design Factory Festival!
The International Design Factory Festival (IDFF) brings together educators and makers, coordinators and coaches, and administrators and decision makers from all over the world to share best practices and take their design factories and communities to the next level. As members of a DF institution, you are welcome to - among other events - attend a session on sharing and creating best practices in a hybrid context, get input on your ongoing or future projects in a newspaper meeting, or join a round of speed networking to extend your circle of contacts around the world. There is also a range of events open to the public. Click here to get a full overview of the program available for both staff, students, and the public.
The program contains events in various formats such as practical demos of pedagogic practices/technology and creativity exercises (demo corners), keynote speeches, tour of the various DFs (show your space), panels/conversations, and social/networking events. As a global meeting, events are scheduled across three different time zones and virtually at any time of the day.
St. John’s University Design Factory, housed in the Farella Innovation Lab, is one of the IDFF’s official co-hosts. The following events are directly organized by the St. John’s University Design Factory:
Oct 4, 2-3 pm - Rethink, Reconnect, Redesign: Roundtable Discussion on the Future of Healthcare (this event is also part of the CCPS research forum)
Oct 5, 4-430 pm - The Pedagogy of 3D Printing
