St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will host a group of 30 students studying Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University in Great Britain, along with their faculty on January 10. Dr. Vibhuti Arya, Associate Clinical Professor, will present a seminar focusing on pharmacy practices in New York City, to provide a comparison to the De Montfort students’ experiences in England.
Russell DiGate Ph.D., Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Robert A. Mangione Ed.D., R.Ph., Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, will take part in the seminar and share their experiences in different aspects of pharmacy practice.

30 students will visit St. John’s as part of a larger trip to New York by De Montfort University. In total, close to 1,000 students of various health disciplines are visiting New York to meet with various experts and lectures with a theme focus on post-9/11 healthcare. Dr. Arya will also lead a seminar for the students at the Department of Health on Monday, where she will discuss communities of healthcare, bridging pharmacy practice to public health, emergency preparedness, community resilience and correctional health services.
