Project Summary:
The project seeks to analyze voice samples to determine the cepstral peak prominence and compare this value to perceptual measures of voice quality.
Qualifications:
A basic understanding and appreciation of acoustic measures is required and evidenced by completion of CSD 1750: Speech Science with at least a B+ grade (or similar course in physics). Interest in voice production is a must. Also, basic computer skills are required. An interview with Dr. Walden is required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manipulate audio files using software
- Perform acoustic analysis on voice samples.
- Manage data in spreadsheets.
- Work with peers and faculty in a timely and respectful manner. Students will need to do the human subjects in research IRB training.
