- Updated Mask Guidance for Vaccinated Faculty
We are pleased to report that the University is approaching full compliance with the University’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate for all students and employees. This is an important milestone in slowing the spread of COVID-19 within our community and enabling us to safely engage in more robust activities on campus.
To better support the quality of the classroom experience, the University is updating its mask requirement for faculty while they are teaching. Effective immediately, fully vaccinated faculty may elect to remove masks while teaching provided safe distancing of at least six (6) feet can be maintained between themselves and their students.
For now, we will continue to require everyone to wear masks inside of all campus buildings (unless teaching as noted previously). Faculty, administrators, and staff working alone at their workstations are not required to wear masks if able to maintain a safe distance from others.
We hope to review the mask requirements again soon and determine whether they can be further eased depending upon conditions on campus and in our surrounding communities.
