- Update: Office of Assessment and Accreditation
The Office of Assessment and Accreditation, formerly the Office of Assessment, is overseen by Marc E. Gillespie, Ph.D., Vice Provost for Graduate Education, Clinical Operations and Research, and Assessment. The office now not only supports the measurement and assessment of student learning and programmatic outcomes to ensure student success, but is adding extensive support for all accreditation activities.
Accreditation is a critical component in establishing the quality and rigor of the programs that serve St. John’s students. Accreditation activities include wide-ranging data collection, documentation of evidence, artifact provisioning, and on-site preparation and resources. The office engages with faculty, administrators, and staff early in the accreditation and self-study process and supports them throughout, from preparation and submission to site visit and follow up. The office is currently supporting the University’s self-study for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, as well as many others.
As always, the office continues to assist in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of all data pertaining to the academic success of our students. This data is used to evaluate compliance with assessment standards for all programs and accrediting bodies. The data, accreditation documentation, and schedules are archived within the office. We look forward to serving the University in this new capacity.
