- Subject: Invitation to May 7 Memorial Eucharist for Sr. Margaret John Kelly, D.C. ’64G, ’67Ph.D.
In honor of Sr. Margaret John Kelly, D.C. ’64G, ’67Ph.D., St. John’s University and friends will gather for a Memorial Eucharist on Sunday, May 7, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Thomas More Church. All are welcome.
Sr. Margaret John was a double alumna of St. John’s University with a Master of Arts degree in English in 1964 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in English in 1967. Extensive ministry in education, health care, and provincial leadership prepared her for several roles during her years at St. John’s; she served on the Board of Trustees (1989–95), as an Interim Dean of St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and as a Special Assistant to the President.
In 1994, Sr. Margaret John was charged to establish the Vincentian Center for Church and Society and to serve as its first Executive Director. From that position, she faithfully emphasized our educational goals alongside our Catholic and Vincentian character.
This event is open to all faculty, administrators, and staff, as well as the general public. Registration is encouraged.
