- Reminder – Required Cybersecurity Training
This is a reminder that if you have not completed the online cybersecurity training, please do so by Friday, November 18. It is accessible through signon.stjohns.edu by clicking on the icon, “You are the Shield.”
All employees (i.e., faculty, administrators, and staff) are expected to complete this required training. This is an important element for strengthening community awareness of potential cybersecurity threats and demonstrates how each of us plays a crucial role in protecting University assets. It is always important to be reminded of the tips on how to identify threats and spam messages.
If you successfully completed the training last year, you can test out of previously completed training modules by answering a series of questions at the start of the training. Modules related to the questions you answer correctly will automatically be marked completed. However, for any incorrect answers, you will be required to repeat those specific modules.
In addition—and new this year—every employee must complete a new set of additional short modules to receive credit for training. These additional modules must be completed by all employees, even if you tested out of the previously completed training.
In addition, employees who handle personal and identifiable information are also required to take additional modules. These will be assigned to you based on your roles and responsibilities and will not be part of the initial questions to test out.
If you do not see the training listed on signon.stjohns.edu, or if you have any questions, please contact the Office of Information Technology Service Desk at [email protected] or 718-990-5000. We appreciate your support as we work together to protect the security of the University’s information assets.
