- Participants Needed for Simulation
To raise awareness of St. John’s University’s Justice Initiative Center and provide insight into the many challenges formerly incarcerated people encounter while returning to their communities, the University is partnering with the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York to host a Reentry Simulation on Tuesday, February 4.
Participants will experience obstacles formerly incarcerated people face by attempting to navigate various bureaucracies during their first month of postrelease. The simulation is designed to recreate a realistic view of what formerly incarcerated people encounter.
The simulation runs from 1 to 2 p.m. It will be followed by a panel discussion with experts in the field that concludes by 2:45 p.m. in the D’Angelo Center Ballroom.
If you are willing to participate, please fill out the online form no later than Wednesday, January 29. An earlier response would be appreciated.
