- A Message from the Return to Campus Task Force
As we prepare to return to campus for the spring semester, it is important that we remain vigilant so that we can welcome everyone back to the same safe campus environment. We anticipate increased on campus activity during the upcoming semester with more in-person class instruction scheduled.
In order to alleviate congestion when entering the Queens Campus at peak times, and to better accommodate access to campus from mass transportation hubs, we are making some changes to gate access. Beginning on January 28, 2021, gate access will be as follows:
- Gate 6 will continue to be open 24/7, including the walk-in gate.
- Gates 1, 2 and 4 will be open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
While on campus, everyone is required to adhere to existing protocols, including completing the Campus Pass Health Screen before coming to campus, and complying with appropriate health precautions regarding face coverings, social distancing and the frequent washing of hands. In addition, we are requiring all employees to complete the Campus Pass Health Screen every day regardless of whether or not you are coming to campus. This change is to assist the University with managing the health and safety of our employees, even while employees may be teaching or working remotely. The Campus Pass Health Screen is available on the St. John’s Connect App or on our website.
We regularly update our Reopening website to provide valuable resources and links to information for students, faculty, administrators and staff. Please continue to check this site for updates.
We are excited to welcome everyone back for the spring semester.
