“The Lord will guard us, as a shepherd guards his flock.”
As human beings, we are in constant need of guidance. In my opinion, this need may surmise due to our fear of failure, our fear of the unknown, or even our fear of danger.
In these times of weakness, I always tend to seek refuge in the Lord. For the Lord guides my actions, my words, and ultimately my life. As the Responsorial Psalm states, “I am the Lord's shepherd, and because of that, in him I trust.” The Lord’s words have consistently guided me into self-fulfilling circumstances.
For example, this year I was presented with the opportunity to serve at the Texas/Mexico border. When the opportunity presented itself, I was weary of what would happen. In times of doubt I pray, and so the Lord then guided me to this Plunge experience.
That experience left a profound impact on my life and will do so forever. It provided me with the means to use my voice—a goal that I sought to achieve as a little girl. In times of darkness or light, I say seek the Lord for God shall guide you down the path of righteousness.
