- Lenten Reflections 2020: Day 25
Name: Irene Gorosave
Title: Student, Class of 2020
Department/College: St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Scripture of the Day: HOS 6: 1-6; LK 18: 9-14
“…He will come to us like the rain, like spring rain that waters the earth.
Let in you God, plant His seed. Thus, this seed will sprout, for it is in His hands. However, it will take time for a farmer cannot expect to have vegetables the day after planting his seeds. Patience through the process is important. Trust through the process is important. Healing through the process is important. We are God’s garden and in it we will transcend and live in God’s manifestation.”
As I continue my path, I have times in which my patience, trust, and healing is lacking.
Nevertheless, one must never forget that every seed sprouts in its own time. God is nurturing your seed through the entire process, never leaving your side. He helps us grow strong roots in order to fulfill our highest potential through Him and in Him.
As we gracefully go through the season of Lent, I encourage you to plant a seed—a seed that will one day sprout with the signification of not only its self-growth but yours as well. The seed will sprout and represent the patience, trust, healing, and most importantly, love that you gifted it—which is the same patience, trust, healing, and love that God gives you.
