- Lenten Reflections 2020: Day 13
Name: Garth R. Stewart
Title: Staff, CCTV Operator
Department/College: Department of Public Safety
Scripture of the Day: DN 9: 4B-10; LK 6: 36-38
As we reflect on Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want,” I think about material things that at first I believed would make me happy. Then I recall that there are many people in the world who require basic necessities—and I am humbled. The material things I once desired are less significant.
This holy season invites us to reflect on how the Lord always prepares us for what we encounter.
In this reflection, we see that the Lord is truly our Shepherd. I am forever grateful for the grace and love of our Lord. Our earthly desires fail in comparison to what we can achieve—if we just continue to listen to the Lord and do what He requires.
