The Office of Human Resources wishes to remind employees of key information and resources previously shared to assist you during this challenging time.
1) As a reminder, we offer COVID-19-related financial assistance for employees:
- An employee emergency fund has been created for employees in need;
- Interest-free emergency employee loans are available for full-time employees;
- Over-the-counter medications and other items previously excluded are now reimbursable under employee Flexible Spending Accounts; and
- Changes to 403(b) Plan rules as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act now provide certain relief to retirement plan participants.
2) St. John’s University’s Office of Information Technology has recorded its training webinars on how to use various computer programs, such as Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, and how to work with Cisco Webex. Additional trainings will be posted under the Virtual Trainings heading on the Work from Home Tips for Success webpage. Other technology tools and additional resources are also linked on this page.
3) Corporate Counseling Associates, our employee assistance program, offers free webinars, support groups, and mindful meditation sessions for COVID-19-related challenges. For more information, visit Work from Home Resources.
4) Frequently Asked Questions addresses several pressing COVID-19-related employee concerns. As you are aware, you can find all of the University’s official operational and instructional updates to the community on the Coronavirus Updates webpage, including the most recent announcement on the status of Summer 2020 academic courses.
5) Finally, if you experience bias or discrimination related to COVID-19 or otherwise, please visit Bias Reporting for information and to make a report. The University is committed to being a welcoming and inclusive campus community where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued; incidents of bias and discrimination are not tolerated.
