- Hospitality Management Student wins Banks Brown Graduate Scholarship
Jeremiah Cribley, ‘21CCPS, a current International Hospitality Management student was awarded the 2023-24 Banks Brown Graduate Scholarship, given by the AHLA Foundation, for $5,000. The Banks Brown Graduate Scholarship is available to students pursuing a graduate degree in a hospitality-related program.
“Jeremiah is a shining example of our hospitality management program and has made a big impact on SJU's student organizations. He merits the honor of the largest organization in the hospitality industry, and this account will serve as an excellent source of inspiration for all students studying hospitality management.” Said Dr. Seunghyun “Brian” Park, Assistant Professor of the Division of Administration and Economics (Hospitality Management Program)
AHLA Is the largest hotel association in the U.S. representing all segments of the industry nationwide and is committed to the future of hospitality. They have distributed over $1 million since 2018 to hardworking hospitality students across the country. This scholarship money helps students build a lifelong career in one of the most rewarding industries built on service to others.
Mr. Cribley hopes to use this scholarship to further his education and finish his master’s degree. “My goal is to become a professor of Hospitality – my professors April Merenda, Assistant Professor of Administration and Economics, and Dr. Brian Park have been excellent mentors. I found my love for teaching when I began taking on leadership roles that included staff development and training at The Four Seasons Hotel where I have worked for the last 7 years. I hope to one day join the St. John’s family again as a professor.”
