- February's Henry George Lecture explores inequitable income distribution
Queens, NY - St. Johns University's Henry George lecture series will host Dr. Branko Milanovic, author of "Visions of Inequality," a book which examines how the most important economists of the past two centuries have thought of forces that shape income distribution. He also discusses more recent developments that, after a period of disinterest in income inequality in the second half of the twentieth century, have led to a significant revival in inequality studies.
The series is coordinated by Aleksandr V. Gevorkyan, Ph.D., Henry George Chair in Economics and will be held at 2pm on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the D'Angelo Center 206. RSVPs are requested for admission.
Milanovic is a senior scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality. He obtained his Ph. D. in economics from the University of Belgrade with a dissertation on income inequality in Yugoslavia. He served as lead economist in World Bank Research Department for almost 20 years and as a senior associate at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington.
