All employees were invited to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday this year with a festival held on June 15 on the Queens, NY, campus. Organized by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, employees who stopped by the lawn adjacent to Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall enjoyed a picnic-style lunch, lawn games, music, and a raffle. Prizes included Juneteenth-themed items such as shirts, caps, kente print canvas bags and bracelets, as well as St. John’s University picnic blankets and umbrellas. The weather cooperated and employees were able to spend time with colleagues and celebrate Juneteenth as a campus community.
