Recently it seems as if there is no escape from violence in our communities. We recognize that ongoing news of war and political unrest, police brutality, and mass shootings may cause members of our University community to experience a range of emotions.
The Office of Human Resources wishes to share tips from the University’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) on coping with grief after community violence, coping with a traumatic event, coping with crime victimization, and how to listen to someone who is hurting. Please remember that you and your family members have free, 24/7 confidential access to support, guidance, and referrals through the EAP, which can be reached by calling 1-800-833-8707 or visiting www.myccaonline.com (company code: stjohns). Take care of yourselves and each other, be well, and stay safe.
