- CCPS Professor Wins “Honorable Mention” in the International Photography Awards
Richard “Rex” Thomas, Associate Professor of Performing and Visual Arts and Program Coordinator, Dramatic Arts and Photojournalism Programs for The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies recently won an “Honorable Mention” in IPA’s (International Photography Awards) “A Deeper Perspective” Competition for My Favorite Toy, an essay/installation that addresses the epidemic of school shootings.
"Favorite Toy" features 12 portraits of my daughters’ toys. The number of images represent the year of the Newtown massacre, the minimalistic approach, a focus what has been lost since. - said Mr. Thomas
The International Photography Awards conducts an annual competition for professional, amateur, and student photographers globally, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive competitions in the photography world today.
