- CCPS Professor and SJU Alumni Arlene Karole Publishes an Empowering Story about Taking Charge of a Breast Cancer Diagnosis
CCPS Adjunct Professor Arlene Karole, who teaches Hospitality Management for the Collins College of Professional Studies, recently published a memoir titled Just Diagnosed: Breast Cancer What to Expect What to Know What to do Next. Just Diagnosed is an empowering memoir which delves into the feelings the author had during the first stages of her diagnosis and how she learned how to become more self-aware which helped her tackle the difficult decisions she faced throughout her journey to healing.
Here’s a favorite quote of the author's that is referenced in the book, which comes from an Indian proverb “Everyone is a house with four rooms, a physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are not a complete person.”
