- Academic Center for Equity and Inclusion Grant Opportunities
We are happy to announce the creation of two new grant opportunities made available through the Academic Center for Equity and Inclusion (ACEI): the ACEI Faculty Minigrant for Inclusive Teaching and Learning and the ACEI Travel Grant for Faculty Personal and Professional Development.
ACEI Faculty Minigrant for Inclusive Teaching and Learning
St. John’s University is committed to creating and improving efforts to make our campus an equitable and inclusive community. To support these efforts, which align with the University’s mission and the strategic goals set forth by the Office of Equity and Inclusion, the ACEI solicits applications to fund projects that focus on developing curricular/cocurricular initiatives, enhance skills that promote anti-oppressive teaching practices, and/or promote research innovations/ initiatives that center issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and learning. Additionally, these grants seek to foster collaboration, conversation, and community among faculty invested in these issues and to generate resources that contribute to equity work within our learning community. ACEI Travel Grant for Faculty Personal and Professional Development
ACEI faculty travel grants are intended to support ALL faculty members seeking personal and professional development in the areas of pedagogy, administrative decision-making, leadership, service, and research to promote ongoing learning for social justice. Additionally, this grant is also available to faculty seeking support for personal and professional development to ensure academic success. In furtherance of the Equity and Inclusion Council’s charge to “recruit and retain faculty from historically underrepresented groups,” preference is given to historically underrepresented minority applicants.
