Academic Calendar Changes – Fall 2020

We write to you today to provide information on changes to the academic calendar for fall 2020. Upon the recommendation of the University’s Academic Calendar Committee comprised of faculty, administrators, and students, and with the approval of Dr. Gempesaw, classes will begin August 24 instead of September 2 this fall.

The main reason for the calendar adjustment is to prioritize the health and safety of our students, faculty, administrators, and staff by eliminating the need for students to return to campus after the Thanksgiving holiday.

In order to accommodate for this earlier start date, the University will remain open and classes will be held on Labor Day, Veteran’s Day and the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. No classes will be held on Election Day (November 3) and the University will be closed. Final Exam/Assessment week will be conducted remotely during the week following Thanksgiving, from November 30 to December 8.
