Project Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the research team led by Dr. Saurabh Agarwal as a Research Assistant or Technician in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. John’s University. This position is available immediately and focus on research project employing in vitro cellular models and molecular biology techniques to investigate therapeutic efficacy and mechanisms of action of drugs in reducing neuroblastoma cancer growth. The Research Assistant/Technician will be expected to participate in study design, perform experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports, review, and manuscripts for publication of results.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have demonstrated training and experience using in vitro cell culture systems, molecular biology techniques such as western blotting, RT qPCR, and immunofluorescence staining. A degree of B.S. or above in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology/Toxicology or a closely related biomedical field. Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position include- project research work, upkeep of the laboratory, training other students in lab for research techniques, supporting PI in writing grants and manuscripts.
