On Sunday, April 17, 2022, at approximately 9:05 p.m., a St. John’s University student reported to the Department of Public Safety that he was approached by two males wearing dark ski masks who attempted to rob him of his property.
The student said that as he was returning to campus on Goethals Avenue from 164th Street, he was approached from behind by two unknown males. They pushed him up against a fence and one of the males stated, “Give me all you have.” No weapons were displayed and no property was removed. The student fled and entered Public Safety’s Main Command Center in the ROTC Building on Goethals Avenue by Gate 6.
The New York City Police Department was notified; officers responded and conducted a search of the area. The suspects were not located and the police investigation is continuing.
