- The McCallen Society
The McCallen Society is a community of generous alumni, benefactors, and friends. Members demonstrate their commitment to the spirit and values of St. Vincent de Paul by including St. John’s University in their estate plans. Their planned gifts fund scholarships, programs and initiatives as well as University enhancements, and facilities upgrades needed to ensure student success.
For members, the benefits are academic, cultural, and social. There is an exclusive invitation from the Office of the President to attend an annual luncheon where they meet with St. John’s leaders and students. An update is provided by the President to attendees on the latest happenings at the University. In addition, the members are invited to off-campus events which include a special Christmas celebration and visits to historic and cultural sites such as the opera and New York Public Library’s special collections.
The McCallen Society is a unique opportunity to make friends and have fun while supporting the mission of St. John’s University. To join, fill out our online membership form or contact my office to learn more.
Message from the Director of The McCallen Society

While membership in The McCallen Society allows our alumni to leave legacies at St. John’s, it also has a major impact on their lives today.
Being a McCallen Society member has connected them with their alma mater and some truly terrific people. It has also become an important social, academic, and cultural outlet. They give back because they feel St. John’s has influenced their lives in so many ways—the longtime friendships, the successful careers, the Vincentian mission, the strong faith, and it is the place where some of them met their lifelong partners.
In turn, St. John’s gives back to Society members by planning social activities, educational programs/lectures, museum tours, and trips to the theater. Members are also the first to receive the latest school information as well as helpful newsletters on estate and financial planning. I hope you consider joining The McCallen Society.
Your membership can help carry out the Vincentian mission while also being an enjoyable experience because you meet so many wonderful people. With The McCallen Society, you will get to experience college life all over again—of course, without the tests.
