Dr. Manzi started working with geriatric patients while she was a fifth-year Pharm.D. student in the midst of a geriatric rotation at the Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park, NY. “Judith L. Beizer, Pharm.D., was my preceptor and the interactions I had with patients there made me fall in love with geriatrics,” Dr. Manzi recalled.
Dr. Beizer, who was President of the ASCP from 2008 to 2009, has been Dr. Manzi’s career mentor since 1990 and is guiding her now as she serves as President of the same organization. “I have had the fortune of keeping the best mentor through my entire career,” Dr. Manzi continued. “I am blessed to have been introduced to her early in my professional life as a student at St. John’s University.”
