- 2025 St. John's Law Review Symposium
The St. John's Law Review is pleased to present its 2025 Symposium:
Taking Stock of Stare Decisis
About the Symposium
In the wake of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions, the idea that stare decisis constrains the Court's justices seems open to question. By contrast, lower court judges still seem to value and work with precedent. But perhaps those judges are also starting to think and behave differently in this time of change. In other words, this is a moment to think hard about, and to discuss, stare decisis in judging. For its 2025 Symposium, the St. John’s Law Review will assemble a panel of leading experts to examine this vital topic. After the Symposium, there will be a reception for presenters and audience members.
