In order to help the transfer student with the process, St. John’s University has prepared this Transfer Guide for the Bronx Community College student. The community college will provide students with the first 62 credits (A.A degree) towards the B.A in Sociology at St. John’s University. Students in this program will then transfer to St. John’s where they will complete their Bachelor’s Degree. If the student attends full time at both schools, the total AA-BA program can be completed in 4 years.
The transfer student, who has excelled in the classroom, may qualify for one of our generous scholarship programs. Students with a G.P.A. of 2.5 or better are eligible for transfer scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $10,000 per year based on our evaluation of the FAFSA form. Special consideration will be provided to Bronx Community College Phi Theta Kappa members and Honors Program participants. Phi Theta Kappa members will receive an additional $2,000 toward their first year tuition. All pending graduates of Bronx Community College, who apply to transfer to St. John’s, will have the application fee waived. Finally, St. John’s University will provide a laptop computer for each registered, incoming transfer student.
