Media and Marketing Executive / Sirius XM Radio Announcer

Larry Dunn is the Senior Director of Marketing and Sales for Island Federal Credit Union, in which he oversees marketing and sales of the financial institution with over 1.4B in assets, and restructured the marketing team with a strategic marketing plan and new business development.

Prior to that, Larry was the senior vice president of advertising for Newsday Media Group, which includes Newsday, Newsday.com, and New York. Newsday is one of the nation’s leading daily newspapers, serving Long Island since 1940. Am New York is the nation’s most widely circulated free daily newspaper, serving New York City. He was responsible for the goals, strategies, execution, and financial performance of the Advertising Sales teams, including retail, classified, national, interactive, local, and regional. 

While a member of the Executive Management Team, Larry was responsible for the development and achievement of an annual business plan, ensuring that the financial performance and goals of the company are achieved. Larry strategically drove incremental advertising account growth through both the Newsday Media Group and the Cablevision Media Sales brands, which include the News 12 Networks, The New York Interconnect, Cablevision Local Ad Sales, and Cablevision Advanced Advertising Platforms. 

Larry’s 25+ year career has been in advertising roles in the magazine industry. From 1991 to 2010, Larry was the Vice President and Group Publisher of Multichannel News, Broadcasting & Cable, Video Business and Trade Show Week. In addition, he spent eleven years with various international magazines and worked with the staff and editors of Variety and Convergence Magazines. During his tenure, Larry transformed and grew the print business into a digital media and event business, with an emphasis on multi-platform brands.

For the past 17 years, Larry has also hosted a daily radio show, 7 days a week, on SiriusXM radio: Channel 33 on 1st Wave Monday to Friday, 6-9 a.m., Saturday, 5-8 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Larry grew up on Long Island and was a delivery boy for Newsday in his hometown of North Merrick. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts from St. John’s University.  Larry and his wife, Suzanne, reside in Massapequa Park and have a son and three daughters.
