Part Time Employment

One of the best ways to explore career options is to gain experience in your field of interest. Part time jobs help you gain practical experience in your career field, while learning marketable skills to help prepare you for full time employment. These experiences give you an opportunity to "test" the career to determine if it will be a good fit.

How to Find Part Time Jobs

  • Part time job opportunities are posted on bulletin boards outside the Career Center. These listings are updated daily as new opportunities are received.
  • In partnership with the Career Center, MonsterTRAK provides additional part time opportunities targeted by employers to St. John's University students and alumni. Visit the Career Center and ask for the password to access MonsterTRAK. If you are using a computer on campus, the password is not required.
  • Additional part time opportunities are available on the web.
  • Volunteer work is another way to explore careers. Campus Ministry and the Department of Student Life can assist you in locating volunteer opportunities.
