The Office of Admission on the Staten Island Campus offers various programs and services
designed to inform students about the unique characteristics of the
Staten Island side of the St. John’s experience. It also
offers valuable advisement about the college selection process
generally.
Our popular campus visitation program includes a private
interview with an admission counselor who focuses on the individual
student’s interests, questions and concerns about college
selection. Together they will explore how the St. John’s
experience on the Staten Island campus addresses those
interests. The visits also provide an opportunity to meet
with faculty and students in the applicant’s intended area of
study. Classroom visits are arranged by request. Tours of the
campus and residence apartments are also featured. At the end of a
visit, an applicant has a comprehensive view of St. John’s
University, with a special understanding of how the Staten Island
campus meets the University’s Mission.
Prospective students are also invited to Open Houses, information seminars
and Deans’ Receptions. Applicants are assigned personal
admission counselors who will accompany them through the college
selection process.
Admission at
St. John’s University is selective based on academic performance,
achievement on standardized tests, and other factors that reflect a
student’s interests, motivation and potential.
