Queens Campus
The mission of Student Development & Programming is to
foster the Catholic, Vincentian and metropolitan tradition of the
University through the enhancement of the natural abilities of all
students from admission to graduation. This is accomplished by
providing students with a variety of programs, activities and
services that enrich the spiritual, intellectual and physical
fibers of the individual. Student Development &
Programming is further committed to providing students with
programs that specifically address new student transition
development and the personal growth, leadership development and
decision-making skills of the all students. Student
Development & Programming is composed of the following areas
and programs: New Student Orientation, Leadership Development,
Mentoring Programs (Project A.I.M. and Alpha Mentoring Project),
Fraternity and Sorority Life, Campus Activities, Discover New York
Cultural and Transition Program, the Career Center, Multicultural
Affairs and Campus Recreation.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will gain a sense of belonging to the University
Community providing a base for personal growth during the college
years.
- Students will learn more about and gain an appreciation for the
cultural richness of New York City.
- Students will learn multiple leadership techniques and develop
a personal philosophy of leadership that includes understanding of
self, others and community and acceptance of responsibilities
inherent in community membership.
- Students will develop social and critical thinking skills
necessary to make healthy and responsible choices regarding the use
of alcohol and other drugs.
