St. John’s University In partnership with the United States Department of Homeland Security, FEMA Region II hosts the Urban Hazards Forum IV: Campus School Safety and Emergency Preparedness Conference.
In New York City there are 594,000 students enrolled in over 105 Colleges and Universities. In NY and NJ there are over 270 Colleges and Universities, which in conjunction with Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands make up FEMA Region II. Campus Safety has become a critical issue, not only for individual colleges and universities but for our National Security posture. The conference will have representatives from the City, State and Federal levels and serve as an informative and educational opportunity for university professionals and emergency response professionals. Personnel from area high schools can also benefit from participation and would be very welcome to attend.
