Academic Lecture Series - The US Constitution: Isues that Could Make a Difference to You A Student Debate on the U.S. Constitution - Queens Campus

Student Debate with representatives from student political organizations and Faculty Moderator, Robert Tomes, Associate Professor, Social Sciences.
Questions to be considered include:
   1. Should the U.S. build a wall along the Mexican border to regulate or deter immigration?
   2. Should the President be the winner of the popular vote, or of the electoral college (the process by which the winner of the popular vote in each state receives all of that state’s electoral votes)?
   3. Should the government fund stem cell research?
   4. Should the President have the power to commit large numbers of American troops abroad for extended periods of time without a Congressional declaration of war?
