Through an exciting new articulation agreement between St.
John's University and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NY),
students at St. John's University can study at the Academy and
receive credit toward their B.S. in Television and Film Studies
from St. John's College of Professional Studies.

Also under the agreement, students at the American Academy of
Dramatic Arts who have successfully completed the Academy's
two-year program with a G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher may transfer 60
credits toward a B.S. in Television and Film Studies at St. John's.
If the students have successfully completed an entire year at the
Academy, they may transfer 30 credits.
Students from the Academy's Los Angeles campus also are eligible
for transfer credit.

The agreement allows students to benefit from the academic and
professional resources of two highly respected New York
institutions of higher learning.
First Professional School for
Acting
The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) is a fully accredited
two-year conservatory with campuses at 120 Madison Avenue in New
York City (in a landmark building designed by legendary artchitect
Stanford White) and at 1336 North La Brea Avenue in Lost Angeles
(the site of the former Charlie Chaplin Studios).
Founded in 1884 to train actors for the stage, the Academy was
the first school in the US to offer a professional education in the
acting field. The Academy stresses practical, professional training
for stage, film and television.
The program is highly structured, focused on acting, voice,
speech and movement with an emphasis on self-discipline,
self-discovery and above all, individuality.
Students who graduate in New York receive the Degree of
Associate in Occupational Studies. Students who graduate in Los
Angeles receive a Certificate of Completion or an Associate of Arts
Degree in Acting.
As a group, Academy alumni have garnered a total of 72 Oscars,
205 Emmys and 58 Tony nominations. The number continues to grow
