The requirements of the 130 credit actuarial science BS program
may be completed in 4 years of full-time study. The program
provides a broad, general business education and, in conjunction
with selected courses in mathematics, economics, finance,
accounting and insurance, students are prepared to take the actuarial exams that lead
to certification by common to the Casualty Actuarial
Society and the Society of
Actuaries. The program also is designed and approved to
maximize the provision of society validation by educational
experience (
VEE) credit.

An additional benefit is available to matriculated candidates for
the BS in Actuarial Science who find it desirable to obtain
additional focused preparation immediately preceding one of the
society exams. Students,
subject to approval, are provided a reduced fee for actuarial
science professional exam preparation classes designed for this
purpose and offered by the Tobin College of Business’ professional
education unit.
