History
Mr. Jack Kent Cooke was a businessman, sportsman, and philanthropist. His business interests included ownership of professional sports teams, newspapers, magazines, radio stations, cable television, and real estate holdings. He left most of his fortune to establish the Foundation. One major goal of the Foundation is to identify extraordinary individuals who have excelled in academics as well as other extracurricular activities and help them pursue the kind of formal education Mr. Cooke himself never had.
