Program Highlights

For the past 10 years, the Rome campus has given students a uniquely international academic experience. The campus is centrally located in the heart of the city. The campus is within walking distance of Downtown Rome and the Vatican. Great restaurants, museums and monuments are readily available to the students. It is hard to say what you will find most breathtaking about the eternal city.

Rome is such a magical place, where you can live and learn among layers of history. Etruscan tombs, imperial temples, early Christian churches, medieval bell towers, renaissance palaces and baroque basilicas are around every corner.

Students at the Rome campus may choose from a variety of courses, including the following:

Faculty
St. John’s is internationally known for the high quality of its faculty. Professors at the Rome campus provide an outstanding education with a decidedly international perspective. Class sizes are limited, so students at our Rome campus enjoy the personal attention they deserve.

Housing and Meals
Students live in spacious, fully equipped 3-4 bedroom apartments at the Medaglie D’Oro Residence, which is conveniently located within walking distance of the campus. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, maid service and coin-operated laundry facilities. Down the road from the residence in a typical Roman, family run restaurant where 2, three course meals are provided There is a cafeteria on campus which serves breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day.

Library Collections
The Rome campus features on-site collections and a wide variety of online services. Commonly used periodicals and other texts are available on campus. In addition, the campus subscribes to a number of external databases and on-line services.

Computer Facilties
St. John’s is dedicated to providing every student with a high-tech education. At the Rome campus, our state-of-the-art Computer Lab and wireless connectivity throughout the campus give students 24-hour access to online databases, library resources, e-mail and Internet services. Students can use Internet services without charges or time limits.

Recreational Facilities
Students enjoy such campus facilities as tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields and an indoor swimming pool.

Campus Ministry
St. John’s is a Catholic university, and our religious tradition is part of our distinctive character. Our Rome campus includes a Chapel where Mass is offered weekly in Italian and English. Our campus chaplain is available throughout the week for Confession and consultation. Always welcoming to students of all faiths, St. John’s encourages students to integrate their own beliefs into their personal growth, academic development and community service.
