The Peter J. Tobin College of Business Listed in Best 290 Business Schools for 2008 by The Princeton Review
November 26, 2007
October 2007— The Princeton Review has
announced that The Peter J. Tobin College of Business has been
ranked as one of the organization’s Best 290 Business Schools for
2008. The opinions of students at every AACSB-accredited MBA
program in the world were gathered to produce the 2008 edition of
its “Best Business Schools” (Random House/ Princeton Review,
$22.95.) According to one Tobin student surveyed, “I love how Tobin
is currently updating curriculum, constantly improving teaching
methods, implementing new technology, and hiring new professors
educated in the academic and professional fields. The result is a
positive and worthwhile experience.”
A majority of Tobin students surveyed also commented on St.
John’s location and how it is a great boon to their career
searches. Being in New York provides “great networking
opportunities with companies long before you start working through
clubs and departmental events.” Employers most likely to hire Tobin
MBAs include Accenture, American Express Company, Citigroup, City
of New York, JPMorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, and Revlon.
Robert Franek, VP / Publisher, Princeton Review, said, "We
compile our ranking lists in multiple categories based on what
students report to us about their schools to help applicants decide
which of these academically outstanding schools is best for
them."
Dr. Steven Papamarcos, Dean of the Tobin College said, “The
Tobin College is very pleased to be recognized by the Princeton
Review in its latest ranking of top business schools. This is
especially significant for the College because so much of this
listing is driven by student satisfaction as measured through
surveys administered by the organization.”
“Best 290 Business Schools offers two-page profiles of each
school with descriptions of their academics, student life and
admissions policies, plus ratings for their academics, selectivity
and career placement services. The Peter J. Tobin College of
Business was similarly ranked by The Princeton Review in both 2006
and 2007.
The Peter J. Tobin College of Business has provided the highest
quality business education for over eighty years. Many alumni
have risen to senior executive positions in the financial services
community in New York and throughout the world. Degrees
offered include the Bachelor of Science, Master of Business
Administration and Master of Science. The College encompasses
the School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science,
