preparation courses, as well as consulting services to industry,
governments and regulators worldwide. For more than 30 years, the

Certificate Programs and Specialized
Workshops
In addition to the programs listed above, we also offer specialized
workshops to address specific needs within the insurance industry
and the business community as a whole.
- Certificate in the Business of Insurance
We have developed the Certificate in the Business of
Insurance for individuals who wish to expand their breadth of
knowledge of the insurance industry. This program, taught on four
consecutive Fridays by Dr. Jack
Hampton, provides a comprehensive overview of the
major concepts and areas of expertise that are the fundamental
aspects of the industry, and is perfect for those new employees who
want to "fast track" their knowledge. Upon completion of the
program, each participant receives a certificate from St. John's
University.

program is offered in two different formats: 2.5 evening hours per
week over 12 weeks or four consecutive Fridays for the full day.

- Institute for Middle School and High
School Teachers
This two-week program, which is co-sponsored by the Insurance
Education Institute and St. John’s University, is designed to
enable middle school and high school teachers to become more
effective in teaching a range of insurance and insurance-related
subjects. The annual program, which meets during the
summer, is designed to give teachers a detailed understanding
of all forms of insurance, with emphasis upon their relevance to
high school students and their families. The program meets at
the Manhattan Campus of St. John's University, which is
conveniently located near the financial district.
