Gift Giving

Office of Development
Excellence in Legal Education, the Tradition Continues…St. John's University School of Law opened its doors on September 28, 1925. Founded 55 years after the opening of the University by the Vincentian community, the School of Law provides students with unparalleled preparation for success in the practice of law.

Through a dedicated and supportive faculty and an energetic learning environment, the Law School prepares students to analyze the law critically and practice it passionately.  The continued growth and advancement of the School of Law depends upon the support of alumni, friends, corporations and foundations. Gifts, either restricted or unrestricted, for scholarship, capital expansion, technology, endowment or research are an investment in the School of Law's future.

The Annual Giving Campaign
Your gift counts! Your gift makes a difference!

Gifts to the School of Law Annual Campaign support:

Student Financial Aid
Scholarship funds assist academically superior students who do not have the resources to afford a St. John's education. Scholarship assistance also keeps the Law School competitive with other law schools in offering financial aid to our best applicants.

Academic Enhancement
It is important to enrich the academic character of the Law School and to create an environment of stimulating intellectual exchange. Funds are needed for support of visiting guest speakers, practicing attorneys, judges and government officials to participate in the presentation of courses and other academic symposia.

Technology
Students and faculty require access to leading technology to promote on-line study and to take advantage of research resources such as Lexis, Nexis and Westlaw.

Library
The Rittenberg Law Library must continue building its outstanding collection to support new areas of legal specialization.

Support Alma Mater
The School of Law is challenged by rapidly increasing costs and keen competition for qualified students from nine other law schools in the metropolitan area.  The reputation of St. John’s University School of Law continues to grow as it develops new programs, hires outstanding faculty, establishes more clinics, hosts Moot Court competitions and acquires necessary technology to support legal services.
In order to maintain the academic integrity and excellence for others who aspire to the success of its alumni, you are invited to support the School of Law.
