The purpose of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is to prepare teachers for certification in their respective fields, while imparting a values-based philosophy that promotes service, integrity, compassion and diversity.

M.S. Ed. Program in Early Childhood Education
Field Change and Career Change Programs in Early Childhood Education lead to the Master of Science Degree in Education and provide opportunities for graduate students to prepare for a teaching career.

M.S. Ed. Program in Childhood Education
Offers specialization in Childhood Education, Elementary, Gifted, Reading and Technology

M.S. Ed. Program in Adolescent Education 7-12
Master of Science Program available for the following subject areas: Biology, English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Spanish

Travel Abroad Program
The School of Education graduate division offers a three-credit summer program in Early Childhood Education in Italy.

Career Change
In response to the need for teachers in elementary, middle and secondary schools, St. John’s University offers a master’s degree program that can qualify you for a full-salaried teaching position within one year, even if you attend part-time.
